Jagjit Singh Live in Paris 15th May 2011

To strengthen the Cultural ties between France and Asian communities, for the first time, Jagjit Singh live in Concert will be held in Paris. Possibly the most listened to and well known Ghazal singer is visiting Paris this summers. Jagjit Singh has been entertaining listeners from the late 70s and has released numerous albums throughout the years. He has also given music to several Bollywood movies. This evergreen singer seems to simply go on and on. This is a must watch event for this summer. Apart from the smooth tunes of his Ghazals, the instrument players, such as the Tabla, Sitar and Violin players, are always a pleasure to listen to. An evening full of music, poetry, classical and popular music renditions, at last, in Paris.


Jagjit Singh

Jagjit Singh is an Indian ghazal singer. He sings in Urdu, Punjabi, Hindi, Nepali, Bengali and Gujarati languages. As a leading exponent of the art of Ghazal singing (Ghazal Gayaki), a form of Indian Classical music that he is accredited to have revived singlehandedly, Jagjit Singh needs no introduction. His unique compositions and ethereal voice have acquired him a legendary stature among millions of fans worldwide. ‘Hoton Se Choolo Tum', ‘Tumko Dekha To Ye Khayal Aaya', ‘Hoshwalon ko khabar kya' and countless other all time favourites of generations of music lovers have earned the living legend the title, ‘Ghazal King'.
